THE VISUAL EXPRESSION OF A CONCEPT CAN HAVE AN ENDURING QUALITY AND BE UNDERSTOOD ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD IN A WAY THAT LANGUAGE SOMETIMES FAILS. THAT HAS BEEN MY LIFE’S WORK. WHETHER IT IS TELLING A STORY THROUGH A PAINTING, BRINGING A PRODUCT TO LIFE THROUGH DESIGNING A LOGO OR SELLING AN IDEA THROUGH GRAPHICS. THE MEDIUM IS UNIMPORTANT TO ME; IT IS THE MESSAGE THAT MATTERS. THEREFORE MY WORK SPANS EVERY FORM OF PRINT, BROADCAST, AND INTERACTIVE MEDIA AND ENCOMPASSES EVERY TYPE OF CLIENT VARYING FROM THE MUSIC INDUSTRY TO AIRPORTS TO VITAMIN SUPPLEMENTS.

MY WORK HERE WAS PRIMARILY IN THE FILM AND MUSIC INDUSTRIES.
I WORKED ON OVER 200 ALBUM COVER DESIGNS; HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE
RUMOURS/ FLEETWOOD MAC, TUSK/ FLEETWOOD MAC, TOM PETTY AND THE HEARTBREAKERS, SECRET LIFE OF PLANTS/STEVIE WONDER. I DESIGNED AND ART DIRECTED “THE ART OF THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK” A BOOK OF THE FILM FOR LUCAS FILM.

1980 -1996 LARRY VIGON STUDIO
HERE MY WORK EXPANDED TO ENCOMPASS THE BROADER ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY AND ALSO
I BEGAN TO WORK IN THE FASHION INDUSTRY.
HIGHLIGHTS WERE: EVERY GRAPHIC FOR THE HARD ROCK HOTEL AND CASINO IN LAS VEGAS, BEHIND THE SUN/ERIC CLAPTON, IAN DURY, AND THE BLOCKHEADS, DESIGNING A LIMITED EDITION PORTFOLIO (LOGO, PACKAGING, BROCHURE, POSTER) FOR HELMUT NEWTON, GLEN WILLIAMS FASHION LABEL, UNITED PARAMOUNT NETWORK INCLUDING THEIR LOGO.

1996 – 2006 VIGON ELLIS
AT THIS POINT I STARTED TO WORK IN MORE CORPORATE AND DIVERSE SECTORS LIKE IBM, EPSON, LAX, VALLEYCREST (THE BIGGEST LANDSCAPING COMPANY IN AMERICA), HEWLETT PACKARD WHILST STILL REMAINING FIRMLY ESTABLISHED IN THE ENTERTAINMENT WORLD WITH LOS ANGELES OPERA, UCLA PERFORMING ARTS, AND DESIGNING THE BROADWAY POSTERS FOR MAGICIAN RICKY JAY’S SHOWS, DIRECTED BY DAVID MAMET.

2006 – PRESENT LARRY VIGON STUDIO
THE DIVERSITY CONTINUES. FROM ONE EXTREME, DESIGNING GRAPHICS FOR NUTRILITE, A 6 BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY THAT IS THE LARGEST VITAMIN COMPANY IN THE WORLD. THE OTHER END OF THE SPECTRUM, DESIGNING AND ART DIRECTING CARL JUNG’S RED BOOK WHICH WAS PUBLISHED IN 2009 TO GREAT ACCLAIM WORLDWIDE. THIS IS THE MOST SIGNIFICANT JUNGIAN PUBLICATION TO DATE AND ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT PSYCHOLOGICAL PUBLICATIONS OF THE LAST 100 YEARS.

I HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE AND PRIVILEGED IN MY CAREER TO HAVE WON NUMEROUS AWARDS AND HAVE HAD A LOT OF FAVOURABLE PRESS COMMENTS. WHILST EACH AND EVERY ONE IS SPECIAL, MY PERSONAL HIGHLIGHTS ARE: THE NEW YORK ART DIRECTORS GOLD AWARD FOR EDITORIAL DESIGN EIGHT MAGGIE AWARDS FOR EDITORIAL ART DIRECTION, AND DESIGN PERFORMING ARTS INTERNATIONAL POSTER OF THE YEAR FOR UCLA (AWARD PRESENTED AT THE UNITED NATIONS) TWO FEATURE ARTICLES IN GRAPHIS MAGAZINE FEATURED ARTIST IN PSYCHOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVES LOGOS FEATURED IN NUMEROUS LOGO COMPILATION BOOKS ALBUM COVERS FEATURED IN NUMEROUS ALBUM COVER ART BOOKS. IN 2020 I WAS INDUCTED INTO THE RECORD ALBUM COVER HALL OF FAME IN CHICAGO.
