Art For Grandchildren Brings Fame to "Grandpa Chan"

A video by AARP.com tells the amazing story of Chanjae Lee, or “Grandpa Chan,” who started an Instagram account, @drawings_for_my_grandchildren, to share the artwork he was making for his grandkids.

Living in South Korea, with his grandchildren in New York, Lee wanted to connect with the kids and draw and paint things that they could talk about when they chatted. The results are incredible - without any formal art training, Lee creates gorgeous drawings and paintings that are now becoming famous, with almost 400,000 followers on Instagram, a website where prints can be ordered (grandpachan.com), gallery exhibitions and even a book deal. The Instagram project has opened up a whole new chapter of life for this loving and talented grandpa!
