The Value of Impermanent Art
I've long been fascinated by the work of these two muralists who do highly intricate and involved murals in sand and snow. Both intended to self-destruct by the tides and melting snow. The work involved and the commitment to something as ephemeral as this is inspiring. It is not art intended to last but to be enjoyed and appreciated in the moment. A lesson perhaps on how we should be living our lives - in the moment. Who can honestly say they do that?
